My new pressure cooker

Once the explosion apprehension of my new pressure cooker passed, I finally used it to make a  "pot au feu"  which is boiled beef with vegetables : carrots, leeks, celery and potatoes.

In the cooker bottom I've covered of water the meat, then I added all the vegetables and 2 onions with cloves then the thyme and laurel and finally salt and pepper.

After 1:30 hour cooking we had a very good "pot au feu" served with a french dressing with parsley.

I cook

First of all if I give a summary of what I cook the most, we have :

- beef stew in red-wine sauce with carrots and potatoes (boeuf bourguignon)

- salmon "en papillotte" with carrots and leeks

- stuffed tomatos with rice

- roast pork with apples, potatoes and dried prunes

- veal stew in white sauce (blanquette de veau)

- zuchini and meats gratin "baked with cream and browned on top"

- quiche lorraine (ham and cubes of bacon pie)

- tuna pie

- TATIN pie (apple dessert)

- Rhubarb pie

Most of these are "typical" french recipes. So I'am very far away of the very creative cook of Estelle.

But I haven't given up hope of getting there one day.

the birth of my blog

I am very glad to announce the creation of my new blog. It will help me to keep in memory all my culinary experiences and also it will enables me to improve my english.

I also hope to develop my culinary skills which are a little bit poor for the moment.
